Kumho is proud to be a member of MIRA (Motor Industry Research
Association). The European Technical Centre in Birmingham is
ideally located to take maximum advantage of the proving ground
facilities available at MIRA, near Nuneaton in the West Midlands,
UK.
From its base on the MIRA proving ground, Kumho conducts a wide
and exacting range of tyre tests to ensure that world class
products are made permanently available to all customers across
Europe. Using MIRA's two hundred and eighty hectare proving
ground, Kumho tyres are tested beyond the limits of normal road
driving.
New products undergo a series of demanding tests to determine
their performance characteristics. High-speed handling circuits
are employed to ensure that Kumho products operate safely at
the extreme limit of their performance envelope.
The wet test facilities at the proving ground enable the test
engineers to check that Kumho products can be relied upon to
deliver superb levels of grip and safety, even when faced with
the most adverse driving conditions.
The comprehensive range of braking surfaces at MIRA ensure that
Kumho tyres will bring the vehicle to a halt rapidly in emergency
situations. Whatever the weather conditions.
Ranges of test tracks are available with a variety of surfaces
that enable Kumho to evaluate the comfort characteristics of
its tyres. The result is that even the most demanding driver
can expect market-leading standards of ride comfort when Kumho
tyres are fitted.
All new product developments undergo noise emissions checks
to ensure that they are tuned to meet even the most demanding
noise legislation. Helping to reduce the impact of road traffic
on our environment.
Out on the roads of Europe, Kumho test engineers conduct long
distance vehicle endurance evaluations to add excellent tyre
life to the products range of excelling properties. |
